Finally… the day of the awaited race has arrived…!
Wanted to go ride on the DHL balloon before it ceased operations on 30th Sept… in the end when we reached there, we found out that it’s closed already… The person working there said that they are closed for good due to maintenance issue, so the balloon is only going to act as a billboard for F1.
Went away disappointed… Nevertheless, we needed a 到此一游 photo!
Next, we went to a good spot to watch F1…! Told deär I glimpse someone reading the papers and the headlines is “My HDB Grandstand” or something like that… and he knew exactly which is the block! Wooo!
Look at what this family did… They used plants and chairs to stop people from standing outside their flat… When someone asked the family, they said they are having a private party… which well… obviously it’s not the case…
Initially we thought of just staying there a while and then “chiöng” back home to watch the live telecast… but decided against it… Luckily I bought burgers instead of chips!
1 hour down the race, the crowd obviously could not stand it, see the plant being shifted away, the chairs moved away and the crowd stood right outside the family to watch the live telecast. Ahaha… right mah, why not share the fun of watching the race together!
There were 2 ang mos who reached around the same time as us, with their beer and snacks, apparently wanting to enjoy the race. Felipe Massa was leading from a pole position and was pulling apart the distance from Lewis Hamilton. The ang mos were clearly supporting the Ferrari team cause they were cheering and clapping away. However, when Felipe Massa dropped from the 1st position to the last position due to the oil rig accident, this ang mo got sooo angry he can’t take it, left with a black face… and his rubbish all on the floor… I have no idea where his friend was, maybe left earlier… I was telling deär I wana catch a pic of him lor, so inconsiderate… but scared he will punch me in the face and I will do a free fall from the 24th storey…
That’s so inconsiderate lor… tsk tsk… no wonder the family wanted to block people away from their corridor… Seems then we locals are not bad huh… we threw our rubbish ourselves…
Got to talk to this aunty and another young dad and his father… Nice people they all are. Giving us updates on the race because the young dad had news feed from his daughter at home… Kudos for Singaporeans! But I guess, come next year, the organizing committee will definitely think of ways to even block us people from this little great view… I hope not though, but let’s wait and see…
